With round after round of tariffs on Chinese goods, announcements, removals, exclusions, delays, increases and, of course, tweets regarding all of the above, it can be easy to get lost on where, exactly, things stand with respect to Tariffs implemented under Section 301 of the Trade Act. Below we provide a brief overview and reference chart, complete with links to the relevant notices. We will update the chart as the U.S. government adds, removes, or changes the tariffs.

On April 6, 2018, the U.S. Trade Representative announced the imposition of a 25% tariff on $34 Billion worth of goods imported from China.

On June 20, 2018, the USTR announced the imposition of a 25% tariff on $16 Billion worth of goods imported from China.

List 3 Date
On September 21, 2018, the USTR announced the imposition of a 10% tariff on $200 Billion worth of goods imported from China. On May 9, 2019, those tariffs were raised to 25%.
USTR proposed to increase List 3 tariffs to 30% effective October 1, 2019. Comments on this proposal are due by September 20, 2019.

List 4 Date
On May 17, 2019, the USTR announced the imposition of a 10 % additional tariff on $300 Billion worth of goods imported from China. On August 14, 2019, the goods on List 4 have been separated into List 4A and List 4B, with two different effective tariff imposition dates. So far, no dates or process for List 4 exclusion requests have been announced.
On August 28, 2019, those tariffs were raised to 15%.
